ABOUT A GIRL
I'll take advantage while You hang me out to dry But I can't see you every night. Free ...I do
I'm standing in your line I do, Hope you have the time I do, Pick up number two I do, Keep a date with you
HANGING TREE
I come running to the shelter of the hangin' tree Down by where the creek runs dry How many boys have hung above me Leaving how many girls alone to cry Alone, alone, alone to cry
...
I come runnin' to the shelter of the hangin' tree Down by where the creek runs wild Drenched by bad bad love Gonna hang myself out to dry Hang myself, hang myself, gonna hang myself out to dry Out to dry, hang 'em high Part the red sea Part it and let me through
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Green River
Well, take me back down where cool water flow, yeh. Let me remember things I love. Stoppin' at the log where catfish bite, walkin' along the river road at night, barefoot girls dancin' in the moonlight.
I can hear the bull frog callin' me. Wonder if my rope's still hangin' to the tree. Love to kick my feet way down the shallow water, shoe fly, dragon fly, get back to your mother. Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River.
Up at Cody's camp I spent my days, oh, with flat car riders and cross-tie walkers. Old Cody, Junior took me over, said, you're gonna find the world is smould rin an' if you get lost come on home to Green River.
